Days before the festival people start gathering wood for the lighting of the bonfire called kamdahanam at the major cross roads of the village or city. This ensures that at the time of the actual
celebration a huge pill of wood is collected. On the day of Holi people poured colours on each other.
People use turmeric powder and gogupulu make colours. They mix turmeric powder and water. They use gulal also. In some places grind the gogu water and use this as a colour.Drinks, specially thandai laced with bhang is also an intrinsic part of the
Holi festival.
